The National Association for the Dually Diagnosed
The Journal of Mental Health Research in Intellectual Disabilities, the official research journal
of the National Association for the Dually Diagnosed (NADD), is soliciting articles in a
variety of fields. The journal will accept a wide range of scholarly contributions with an
emphasis on empirically-based research and will include research on:
(1) characteristics of persons with intellectual disabilities (including autism) and mental
health problems;
(2) maladaptive behavior or other comorbid disorders;
(3) risk and protective factors related to the development and/or prevention of mental
health problems in persons with intellectual disabilities;
(4) development of screening and diagnostic instruments, and;
(5) the effectiveness of behavioral, psychosocial and pharmacological treatment procedures
(including group and single subject designs).
(6) Critical or comparative literature reviews, including quantitative meta-analyses and
occasional conceptual reviews that provide for new understanding of theory or
theoretical constructs will also be considered.
All submissions will be subject to peer review and rigorous scholarship is expected.
